Partial or full rebuilds for stacks that water or earthquake damage has loosened, finished with a crown, flashing and cap. In Santa Paula, we plan the visit around the local weather and the roofline each house type has.
Describe any stain, drip or rust you have seen, and we will set up the Santa Paula visit around it.
When years of water have turned the mortar to sand above the roofline, a rebuild is the chance to add a proper crown, flashing set into new joints and a cap. In Santa Paula and nearby Ojai and Saticoy, Alderwood Chimney Services plans each chimney rebuilds visit around that. Inland summers get hot and dry, and winter rain comes in heavy bursts that run off the foothills. Fall Santa Ana winds dry the brick out quickly, then the first storms soak it again. The Thomas Fire started near Santa Paula in December 2017, a reminder that the spark screen on a cap matters here.

Houses we work on
bungalows near downtown, ranch houses at the edges of the groves, and newer subdivisions
Santa Paula chimneys deal with irrigation as much as rain. Sprinklers and orchard water hitting the base of a chimney can keep brick wet right through the dry months, and we often trace white stains on the lower courses to a misaimed sprinkler head rather than a roof leak. Brick stacks near downtown more often leak at the top, through worn crowns and open joints.

Where we work
These are the parts of town we visit most, but we cover the whole city. If your street is not listed, send your address and we will confirm before booking.
Most of what we see in Santa Paula is bungalows near downtown, ranch houses at the edges of the groves, and newer subdivisions. That mix changes how a chimney meets the roof, where water collects and which part of the system fails first, so we set up each chimney rebuilds visit for the house rather than the street.

Tile roofs are everywhere in Thousand Oaks, and they make chimney leaks harder to spot because the tiles hide the flashing underneath. Many calls here start with a ceiling stain beside a stucco chase, and the cause is often a flat, rusted chase cover holding water at the top. Brick chimneys on the hillside streets more often leak at the counter flashing.

Camarillo sits far enough from the ocean for warm afternoons but close enough for morning fog, so chimney metal here sees both moisture and heat. Galvanized caps and chase covers tend to show rust streaks sooner than owners expect. On the single-story ranch homes, the chimney often rises through a low roof slope where leaves and water collect behind it.

Salt air is the main thing working on chimneys in Oxnard, especially in the neighborhoods closest to the harbor and the beaches. It corrodes galvanized caps, rusts flashing fasteners and eats through steel chase covers much faster than it does inland. When we find water in a firebox here, a corroded cap or a rusted-out chase cover is usually part of the story.

Ventura gives us both kinds of chimney water problem in one city. Near the beach, salt air corrodes caps and flashing. On the hillsides above downtown, wind-driven rain hits exposed chimneys hard, and many brick stacks there were finished with a thin mortar wash instead of a true crown, which cracks and lets water into the core.

It covers taken down to sound masonry above the roof, or fully, matched brick and a cast crown with a drip edge, counter flashing set into the new joints, cap on top, plus a check of the crown, cap and flashing for any sign that water is getting in. Each finding is photographed, and any repair is quoted in writing before work is booked.
