What We Do and How

Alderwood Chimney Services works on chimneys and fireplaces across Ventura County, from Thousand Oaks out to the coast and the inland valleys. Most of the work we take on comes back to water: a stain on a ceiling, rust in a firebox, flaking brick, a fireplace that smells sour after rain.

Our method is the same on every call. We start where the homeowner saw the problem, follow it through the attic to the roofline, and find the crown, cap, flashing or mortar joint that let the water in. That entry point gets fixed first. Then we repair what the water damaged, and only then do we talk about finishes.

Each visit ends with a photo report and a written quote for any repair. Sweeps, Level 1 inspections and caps have set prices listed on the site. Everything else is quoted after we have seen the chimney, because a leak's scope depends on how far the water has travelled.

How We Approach Every Chimney

Four rules that keep a leak repair from coming back after the next storm.

Find the Source First

We do not patch what we cannot explain. Every leak gets traced from the stain to the point where water enters, and the report shows how we got there.

Repairs in the Right Order

Stop the water, let the masonry dry, repair the damage, then protect the surface. Doing it in that order is what keeps a repair from failing the next winter.

Written Quotes Before Work

Prices on the site are the prices we charge. Everything else, from flashing to crown work, is quoted in writing after an inspection, and nothing is added on the day without your approval.

Materials Suited to the Coast and Valley

Stainless caps and chase covers that resist salt air, mortar matched to the brick, breathable repellents instead of paint. The materials are chosen so the chimney can still dry out.

What Stands Behind Every Leak Repair

Trained technicians, a licensed contractor and full insurance stand behind each leak repair we quote.
